Based in New York City, John Marshall Media is a multi-Grammy Award-winning audio production studio specialising in audiobooks, educational content and podcast production.
For more than 25 years the company has produced audiobooks, English language learning and foreign language teaching audio content (in over 30 different languages), along with video and multimedia content of all types. It’s the studio of choice for the world’s most discerning publishers, including Random House, McGraw Hill, Harper Collins, Macmillan, Cambridge University Press and many others.
John Marshall Media needed complete control of administering its voice artists, projects and audio samples, all behind a secure account login and password.
John Marshall Cheary, CEO, Founder and Chairman of John Marshall Media, was seeking a custom platform on which to store all of the company’s existing voice talent and register new talent. The second requirement was the ability to create, share and invite talent to enrol in audio projects, whether these projects are for storytelling, education or other voice-over work.
Noldor developed a solution hosted on Amazon Web Services, Amazon’s reliable, scalable, and inexpensive cloud computing service. Using CakePHP, an open-source, rapid development framework and open-source database MySQL, we created a custom platform for the John Marshall Media team, enabling them to administer talent, create categorised projects, invite talent to audition, change profile details, and upload photos and audio samples, all in an easily searchable and filterable solution.
